V009 unicode61 + 형태소 tokenizer 환경에서 2-char 한국어 query 가
hit 가능해졌으므로 V007 시기의 "3자 이상 권장" hint 가 obsolete.
SearchResponse.hint field 는 wire schema 보존 위해 struct 에 유지 +
항상 None.
- kebab-app/src/app.rs: short_query_hint 함수 + doc-comment 삭제.
2 호출 site 가 hint = None 으로 정리.
- kebab-app/src/lib.rs: re-export 에서 short_query_hint 제거.

exit_code() 의 generic non-zero path).
--bulk mode 는 영향 0 (bulk arm 이 query 무시).

이전: `kebab search "rust" --config /tmp/nonexistent.toml --json` 가 exit=0 +
`{"hits":[]}` silent fallback to XDG default. typo / wrong path 가 0-hit 으로만
surface — debugging nightmare.
이후: kebab_config::ConfigNotFound thiserror::Error 추가, Config::load 의
`Some(p) if !p.exists()` arm 이 anyhow::Error::new(ConfigNotFound { path })
return. kebab_app::error_wire::classify 가 downcast → ErrorV1 code=config_not_found,
hint, details.path 채워서 stderr 에 ndjson 으로 emit.
R-1 (relative path): std::path::Path::exists() 는 cwd-relative — 별도 작업 없이
absolute + relative 모두 cover. integration test 두 개로 검증.

Why: Step 2 의 doc-comment edit 가 향후 누군가 value list 를 재정렬
하거나 alias section 으로 분리할 때 silently 사라질 risk. clap 의
--help 렌더링 가 doc-comment 의 free-form text 라 grep-only smoke 가
유일한 검출 수단.
Change: 신규 test file (kebab-cli convention `cli_*` prefix 답습).
CARGO_BIN_EXE_kebab 으로 fresh binary 실행, stdout 의 `code` substring
assert. spec §4.4 의 acceptance row 1:1 mapping.

trigram tokenizer 가 snippet 단위 + 단어 경계 + BM25 raw score 분포를
모두 바꿔서 unicode61 assumption 기반의 3 test 가 regression.
- wire_search_response::search_json_truncates_with_max_tokens +
search_plain_emits_truncated_hint_to_stderr: 단일 doc + 작은
max_tokens 로는 snippet 이 짧아서 budget loop 가 trip 안 함.
다중 doc fixture (5 doc) + budget 30 token 으로 hit-pop 경로
통해 truncated=true 보장.
- fetch_integration::fetch_chunk_with_context_returns_neighbors:
fixture body 의 2-char tokens (A1/A3 등) 가 trigram 비호환으로
0-hit. apples/banana/cherry/durian/elder 5-char unique words
로 갱신, query 도 cherry 로 deterministic pin.
- eval/runner::runner_per_query_snapshot_matches_fixture: trigram
token stream 으로 BM25 raw score 변동. UPDATE_SNAPSHOTS=1 로
regenerate.

Task 13: add wire regression tests proving markdown SearchHit omits
repo/code_lang when None, and all 5 original Citation variants serialize
byte-identically without spurious Code-variant keys.
Task 15: add --repo (repeatable) and --code-lang (repeatable,
comma-separated) flags to `kebab search`; propagate both into
SearchFilters instead of the previous vec![] stub. Add
#[allow(clippy::large_enum_variant)] — Cmd is short-lived, boxing buys
nothing.
Task 16: add code_lang_breakdown and repo_breakdown BTreeMap fields to
Stats (schema.v1); derive Default on Stats; populate both as empty in
collect_stats (1A-2 fills them when code chunks land). Add unit test
asserting both keys are present in the serialized object.

Also fixes App::search_with_opts trace branch to use NoopRetriever
for SearchMode::Lexical, removing the embeddings requirement when
the user only wants lexical-mode trace.
- ingested_after: convert OffsetDateTime to UTC before formatting
so non-Z offsets compare correctly against UTC TEXT storage
(lexical.rs + filters.rs)
- README: --tag is repeatable-only, not csv (only --media is csv)
- test(cli): add multi-value --tag OR-within IN-list coverage

- error_wire: StructuredError wrapper preserves ErrorV1 through
anyhow → classify pipeline. Adds downcast short-circuit so
cursor::decode's typed code = "stale_cursor" reaches the wire
instead of being string-formatted to code = "generic".
- app: search_with_opts now wraps cursor::decode error in
StructuredError instead of anyhow! string format.
- test: error_wire pins both negative (bare anyhow → not
stale_cursor) AND positive (StructuredError → stale_cursor)
invariants. CLI integration test runs end-to-end and asserts
error.v1.code on stderr.
- app: next_cursor only emitted on full-page (k-pop) path; drop
speculative emit on snippet-only truncation that would point at
a different page than the agent expected.
- cursor: differentiate malformed-base64 / malformed-payload /
revision-mismatch error messages; all keep code = stale_cursor.
- test: cursor_rejected fixture uses .expect() to fail loud on
cursor non-emission instead of silent skip.
- test: max_tokens=0 → 1-hit floor + truncated=true.
- docs: SKILL.md + schema description distinguish snippet-shrink
(widen) vs k-pop (paginate) truncated cases. HOTFIXES notes

Three Ollama-gated integration tests covering:
- stderr lines parse as answer_event.v1 (retrieval_done first,
final last, all carry RFC3339 ts).
- stdout final line is answer.v1 (backwards compat).
- non-stream path (--json without --stream) unchanged.
- BrokenPipe stderr → child terminates cleanly via cancel
propagation through pipeline SendError.

Wires kebab_mcp::serve_stdio into kebab-cli. `--config <path>` honored
via the established Config::load pattern.
Updated serve_stdio signature to (Config, Option<PathBuf>) so the doctor
tool's path-aware behavior works correctly via KebabAppState.
Smoke test spawns the binary + sends initialize + initialized +
tools/list over stdin, asserts 4 tools returned. Confirms the MCP
server boots end-to-end via the real binary (rmcp 1.6 has no
in-memory test transport, so this is the only end-to-end assertion).

cli_schema: exercises `kebab schema` (text + --json) on a fresh-but-init'd
KB. Pins schema_version, kebab_version non-empty, capabilities.json_mode
true, capabilities.mcp_server false (future placeholder).
cli_error_wire: spawns `kebab --json --config <malformed.toml> ingest`
and verifies stderr emits a single error.v1 ndjson line with
code == "config_invalid". Non-JSON mode regression-pinned to keep the
legacy `error:` prefix. Note: --config /nonexistent silently falls back
to defaults (by design); a file that exists but fails TOML parsing is
the reliable trigger for config_invalid.

`kebab ingest` 가 진행 상황을 사용자에게 보여주는 두 surface 추가:
- **사람 모드 (TTY)**: indicatif `ProgressBar` on stderr — scan 중에는
spinner, ScanCompleted 후 bar 로 전환, 매 asset 마다 message 갱신.
- **사람 모드 (non-TTY, CI/pipe)**: indicatif draw target 을 hidden
으로 두고 stderr 에 한 줄씩 (`ingest: scanning`, `ingest: 1/N path`,
`ingest: complete (...)`).
- **`--json` 모드**: stderr 비우고 stdout 에 line-delimited
`ingest_progress.v1` JSON 을 emit. 마지막 줄은 기존
`ingest_report.v1` 그대로 (외부 wrapper backward-compat).
구현:
- 신규 `crates/kebab-cli/src/progress.rs` — `ProgressMode::{Json,
Human { tty }}`, `ProgressDisplay` (background thread 가 channel
drain + 모드별 render), `now_rfc3339` helper. mode 가 무엇이든 ts
는 wire emit 시점에 stamp.
- `crates/kebab-cli/src/wire.rs` 에 `wire_ingest_progress` 추가.
serde tag (`kind`) 위에 `schema_version` + `ts` 두 필드 더해 spec
§2.4a wire shape 완성.
- `Cmd::Ingest` 핸들러: mpsc channel 만들고 background thread 가
display 돌리는 동안 main 이 `ingest_with_config_progress` 호출.
ingest 반환 시 Sender drop → display thread 정상 종료. join 후
최종 ingest_report 출력.
- 새 dep: `indicatif` 0.17 (TTY 전용 진행 바, non-TTY/--json 에서는
hidden draw target).
Test:
- 3 lib unit (mode resolution + RFC 3339 round-trip).
- 3 integration (--json line-delimited / non-TTY stderr text /
ts+kind 검증). 16 PASS 전체 회귀 0.
Plan 갱신:
- p9-fb-01: status `in_progress` → `completed` (PR #52 머지 후속).
- p9-fb-02: status `planned` → `in_progress`. 머지 후 별도 한 줄
commit 으로 `completed` flip.

mark_embedding_records_committed 함수 위에 끼워 넣었더니 위쪽
mark_committed 의 14 줄짜리 doc comment (`WHERE status='pending'`
의 design rationale 등) 가 truncate 의 doc 으로 흡수되고
mark_committed 자체는 doc 없이 남는 버그. impl block 끝 (mark_committed
의 닫는 } 다음) 으로 옮겨 plan 의 원래 의도와도 일치.
- (nit) tests/reset_cli.rs: removed_paths 의 idempotency 검증 보강.
data dir 은 reported, cache dir 은 omit (생성 안 했으니)
되어야 함을 strict 하게 assert. state dir 은 logging init 의
side-effect 로 자동 생성되어 둘 다 가능하므로 허용.

Mutually-exclusive scope flags (--all / --data-only / --vector-only /
--config-only via clap ArgGroup) plus --yes for non-interactive use.
Aborts with exit 2 when stdin is non-interactive and --yes is missing
— silent destruction is forbidden. Self-contained 20-line confirm
prompt (no new dep; std::io::IsTerminal).
Integration tests exercise the bin in a fresh subprocess against
tempdir-rooted XDG env to keep the assertions independent of the host
config:
- --data-only --yes wipes data + cache + state, preserves config.
- non-TTY without --yes exits 2 with the documented hint.
- --json emits reset_report.v1 schema with snake_case scope.
- conflicting --all + --data-only rejected by clap before any wipe.
Plan deviation (task 4): the data-only test used to write a stub
config.toml containing only `schema_version = 1`, but Config parsing
requires every section. Switched to a marker file in the cfg dir +
the documented Config::load(None)→defaults fallback.
